Suicide awareness has become much more mainstream in the last few years. Newspapers report it differently, the links between health and environment are reported more widely. Blogs, Netflix, social media generally and Ted talks, look at the issue from varying perspectives. But does all this make it any easier to spot the signs, talk directly to the person considering taking their own life, and do we need to change how we talk about suicide? How can we help those bereaved by suicide, what do say or do and what is the impact? This workshop aims to address these questions, and have the opportunity to discuss suicide together.
