Continuing Professional Development for Occupational Therapy Staff in the Northern Region

Led by Abi Conway and Angela O’Brien of Citizens Advice, Northumberland

UNISON Bridges to Learning and BAOT / UNISON members in the Northern region are working together to deliver Continuing Professional Development for all Occupational Therapy staff in the Northern Region

Welfare Benefits and Rights for Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants

Occupational therapy supports people to optimise their potential and to engage in a range of meaningful activities throughout their daily lives. However much of this is only possible if individuals have access to the resources they need to fund their daily living. Many patients need access to benefits and other services to facilitate their optimum well being. Benefits can be a minefield for occupational therapy staff. This interactive CPD session aims to guide occupational therapy staff through Universal Credit, Employment and Support Allowance and Personal Independence Payments.
